The 2011 Taunton Deane Borough Council Core Strategy identified land within West Monkton Parish Council to be used to develop a new Monkton Heathfield Sustainable Neighbourhood.
The Monkton Heathfield Phase 1 (MH1) Development commenced in 2011 and between 2012 and 2021, 1291 properties were constructed and completed in the Parish, significantly increasing the number of households.
The properties were constructed in Bathpool, at Aginhills and at Hartnells.
Further development is planned and forms part of the Monkton Heathfield Phase 2 (MH2) Development. Further information about MH2 is available here
