Sunday 13th October at 3.00pm sees the culmination of the League of Friends Taunton Toad Trail with the auction of 19 toads at Hestercombe House. The draw for the Toad made from willow will also take place that afternoon and all the toads to be auctioned will be on display at Hestercombe from Monday 7th October until the auction.

Reaction to the toad trail has been very positive with many people, particularly families with young children, really enjoying following the trail map over the summer holidays.

The generous sponsors of toads have commented on increased visitors and sales, whilst many residents of Taunton taking part in the fun have discovered places they hadn’t visited before.

Based on the auction of the dragons 5 years ago it is hoped that the toads will sell for between £900 and £3000 each, all of which will go towards the refurbishment of the Bracken Birthing Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital

Chairman of the League of Friends Peter Renshaw commented that the Taunton Toad Trail had exceeded all expectations in celebrating 60 years of the League of Friends and its support to Musgrove Park Hospital.
